I guess I agree with your comments - in that I'm surprised it's good enough to be an all time top scoring song. It's not abysmal or even bad, it's just too basic and plain sounding. Do note that the peanut gallery's taste in music is usually terrible, and not all raters know anything about theory. So I'm not saying it's bad, but rating often means little.
But here's what I think...
You should stick with a genre and use instruments that fit the style. Seems like you were trying to do a rock like piece so the drums need to be featured more, and the guitar needs to have the lead - NOT the keyboard. The piano lead works better in Jazzy songs, as well as DnB, but for rock like songs the guitar works much better.
Also ended it at the wrong time. If you want a big finish I wouldn't use a fade, unless the theme you're fading has been used before as a climax. I'd suggest ending with a mellow lead solo.
Might also want to look at using a bass as a pad. Strings are nice fluff but a bass guitar or synth would pad the lead a lot better.
To get rid of the plain MIDI synth sound, throw in a couple of effects. A slight echo with the lead works OK and some sort of overdrive in the climatic variation might sound nice.
Feels a little short. I've always found that using a keychange to double up the song (along with maybe another insturment to intensify the piece) can make it longer, as long as it's varied enough to not just sound like repetitive filler.
Music Tech is hard, I know, and that's why all my music sucks. But I do know that effects and choice of insturments can make a piece sound really good.

Thanks for the awesome review, and I appreciate all of your comments =]
I'll agree with you about 99% - just for the fact that this was my first attempt at doing a "cover," and I like to think that since then I've gotten a bit better, but hey, everything has room for improvement right?
In short, I appreciate the honest, extensive review and the score you gave. You might enjoy some of my more "recent" submissions. Thanks much! =]

I took your advice and actually put it into stepmania, it is a perfect track for it.
Great song, fast paced, and fun to listen to

Well, I'm not much better, but I'm assumming that the only thing you recorded was the tetris theme, and the rest was canned. If you can prove me wrong, do so.

what the!? 0 for effort? acually all the sounds excluding the drum&bass was constructed and sequenced by me, and all the drum&bass are chopped up samples sequenced by me. please dont assume on how it was done, ohh well, i think its a piece of junk anyway, so i guess it dont bother me that much
